01 / The setting
Twenty growing beds were established for residents by the Vantaa River in Peltosaari, Riihimäki. The garden opened with a shared build day on 10 June 2026.
02 / What we did
Eighteen gardeners registered in advance and twelve people joined the build day. We filled the beds and planted Blokgarden seedlings together. The season included nine guided Wednesday sessions, plant-care advice, water tank refills and a shared WhatsApp group.
03 / Impact
Growing was combined with cooking and social activities. Experiences, participant feedback and ideas for improvement were compiled in a final report for the city.
